YOU ASK....WE ANSWER.......These are a few of the questions that  are often asked in our workshop sessions.....

Is some stress good for you?

Some people have written and said that "......some stress is good..."

Preventatists think that this said because of a misunderstanding about what stress really is.

If stress sets up the body to fail in its duty of care, because of a mistaken belief that the person is in some danger, then no stress is good for a person.

This mistaken view of what stress really is, seems to be shared by many researchers looking at the ways our human bodies work.

Does Preventatism help if a person already has an S.R.D?

    Preventatism is about PREVENTION.

In our way of thinking, this means..."don't let the disorder start.."

If a person has got themselves into an S.R.D.  and need treatment, then often, the knowledge in the Preventatist's philosophy can assist the treatment or therapy to succeed, and help towards good health.

This is similar in action, to the amazing effect that Preventatism can have when an accident happens and recovery can be slowed down by stress.

It is obviously best if a person has the principles of Preventatism to prevent the onset of S.R.D.s

    Does stress cause cancer?

Stress and anxiety do not cause cancer.......
    Read more at https://www.cancercouncil.com.au

This is the view of the Cancer Council, and in a way they are correct in making that statement.

But, although Stress does not cause cancer...what it does is to set up the body's systems so that cancer can form.

This especially true in the case of chronic stress....stress that goes on and on, as in regret, grief and so on.

Preventatists think that stress will cause the immune system to shut down, or at least be erratic in its operation whilst chronic stress pertains...this can lead to poor defences against the conditions in the body's cells whin may give rise to cancers. So that whilst one could agree that stress does not cause cancer...the effect of stress is to make it much more liable.

So....don't allow stress to get a grip on your systems..use Preventatism...the best way to defend yourself.

How do I learn to be a Preventatist?

The first thing to think, is ...."Why do I want to do this? Is my health important to me?  Do I really want to stay clear of SRDs for the rest of my life?"PHILOSOPHY 11

Preventatism is a philosophy...a way to think...a belief... principles about Life, and you have to see  for yourself whether using Preventatism would suit you and work to keep you safe from those SRDs .....

Preventatism is not difficult or mysterious...it is actually very simple, but to get to use it effectively needs acceptance of those principles...we remember one person, many decades ago who was taught how Preventatism works, and said..."I can't use this..it's insultingly simple..!"

Over time, we have discovered that some people find it very difficult to accept these principles and ideas, therefore cannot use it. This seems to be usually for reasons connected to religion.

But Preventatism is actually totally non-religious; it is used by people who follow many of the World's religions.  Preventatism does not challenge religious beliefs.

SO...the first thing to do is go to this link and read and follow the prompts to the principles..

If, after reading through all this, you have quedtions, you can use this website to ask......just go to  CONTACT US  and pose your questions.

    Ways to go.....

If you find that our ideas do suit you, and you think you could use them in your life, then you have a few options...

We have found that most people need regular encouragement to keep the adeas alive in their Lives, so need to access the source of those ideas in a routine way.

You can do this by consulting this website to remind yourself about how Preventatism works best, to maintain your own health.

Some people have organised a group of people who think along the same lines, (they could be relatives or friends), and who meet regularly to discuss progress with health and wellness.

The Preventatists Inc is not a wealthy charity, so we can't offer to get out to meet and greet regularly, but some groups fund visits and we send representatives who can assist in talking and spreading the word about Preventatism.

Maybe one day we shall have as much funding as some other charities and be able to help a lot more people to avoid SRDs..

Using Preventatism properly can assist you to a happier healthy life...doesn't mean you'll live longer........ it just helps you to live healthier....if you use the principles properly...

Is Preventatism good for children as well as adults?

Family 1This a very good question........... to which the answer is...... that as long as the person receiving the philosophy known as Preventatism can understand the concepts, then it is good for them.

This has been found to be the case with children of 5 or 6 years of age...particularly when in the company of their parents, who are then able to promote the thinking later at home.....

Some of the Children who learned to use Preventatism years ago, are now in their late teens and have no problems with bullying, exams or relationships. This is because the philosophy helps them to understand and deal with life as it really is.......24/7.

If a family learns to use the ideas, they will be far more tolerant of each other and enjoy a far better life...comfortable and healthier, being stress-free.  This is because they understand the principles upon which other members of the family live their lives.....it doesn't mean that they are zombies...they just come to appreciate other peoples' points of view and respect them.

    Is Preventatism a bit imaginary?

Some people have remarked that our whole philosophy is a bit vague, being based on imaginary concepts....

Our answer would be that since about 12 million people watched "Game of Thrones" on a regular basis,  (over a million in Australia alone), it seems that people are well used to imaginary methods of dealing with life.

Preventatist concepts have proved themselves very usable and effective over a long period of time, there seems to be a good reason to promote the ideas.

Protection and prevention are our aims.

The philosophy leading to Preventatist thinking is not based  on spiritualism, scientific research or religion.

Preventatism is founded in common sense and simple reasoning, derived from observation and resultant outcomes of health and wellness viewed over decades.

Preventatism is devoted to this endeavour, to convince as many people as possible of this fact, and let them use it to their advantage, if they wish, so that individuals can take health and wellness into their own control, rather than pass that control to others, whose motivations may be purely profit.

    Where does stress come from?

    Where does stress come from...?

    Why does stress happen?

The answer is that STRESS is something that we create for ourselves, in our own bodies, from situations in Life that confront us.
There is a great deal of talk about stress in various occupations, like police officers, emergency workers and military personnel, because of the desperate and horrific things they witness and are called upon to do.
But, everyone and anyone can create stress.
Stress does not respect age or gender; wealth or poverty; occupation or personal emotions. Any human, without Preventatism can create stress. It is worse if it is chronic….if it lasts a long time.
It arrives care of our amazing imagination. Because of our imagination, we humans have been able to develop and emerge as dominant creatures on this planet. Our imagination has led us to electronics, engineering, arts and sciences of many kinds.
However, it is the same imagination that can create “dangers” to us, which don’t actually exist.
These imaginary dangers manufacture anxieties and worries that can be dangerous for the individual's health and wellness, especially when those "dangers" exist chronically....they go on and on.....
So, a mother who is concerned for her children’s health; the man who is concerned about where  the next food is coming from; the person who doubts their ability to perform some task or  other; an individual who is concerned and worried about losing something….…
All these things and many more can create those imaginary dangers, that Preventatists call I.D.s, and are stress.

What is "Good Health"....what does it mean?

"Good Health" to a Preventatist means being able to enjoy life in whatever way you want, whenever and however you want, without interference of any disorder or disability.

If you have good health, life is happier, more content, and you are much more able to deal with whatever Life throws at you.......and it will !

    What is Preventatism ?

Preventatism is unique in being one of the very few health promotion strategies devoted to the prevention of human disorders, as distinct from treatment. It is intended to defend an individual against the unavoidable incoming distresses, (IDs) of life, since undefended IDs can morph into stress. Stress does not cause disease, but sets up the conditions for many serious disorders in the human mind and body.

We call these disorders ...SRDs or Stress-Related Disorders.

    What are Stress-Related Disorders...SRDs?

We class Stress Related Disorders, or SRDs, as those human disorders that have a  relationship to stress.

Stress does not "cause" these disorders, but it sets up the conditions in the body, for SRDs to eventuate. (Learn more here)

This particularly applies to anything which relies on proper function of our immune systems.

Medical authorities name four main types of disease:

    1. Infectious diseases:

in these cases, the body has to rely for defence on our immune system's proper function. Stress can downgrade our immune systems.

    2. Deficiency diseases:

For example; foods we eat or don't eat; proteins and vitamins not obtained etc., obesity for example.

    3. Hereditary diseases:

    (including both genetic diseases and non-genetic hereditary diseases);

    4. Physiological diseases:

(Diseases can also be classified in other ways, such as communicable versus non-communicable diseases).

Preventatists note THREE categories of unwellness:

    1. Congenital:

Congenital anomalies (also known as congenital malformations, birth defects, or congenital disorders  ). These disorders are defined as structural or functional anomalies  that occur during time in the womb, some can be diagnosed prenatally.  Examples include Down sundrome, congenital heart defects, and spina bifida.

Preventatists have theoretical views about avoiding these disorders.

    2. Accidental or external damage:

An obvious category, in which damage is caused by external forces; for example, falling, or some dynamic or abrasive force applied to the body causing damage. We might also include detrimental exposures to inadequate qualities of water, food, and air.

Repair and recovery from disorders in this category is often hindered by stress.

    3. Internally or self-created unwellness:

    These are essentially SRDs.

To note a few of the disorders that we name as SRDs:

    Diabetes;  Cancer; Depression;  Dementia; Cardiac (heart) disorders; Irritable Bowel Syndrome; Migraines; Parkinson's Disease;

Ask : "What can stress do to me?";   then ask:  "What can Preventatism do for me?
